Norfolk Public Schools Elementary Guidance Program K-12 Mission Statement
The Norfolk Public Schools K-12 Counseling program is an integral component of the total educational system. It is developmental by design and includes sequential goals and activities for educational, vocational, emotional and social development. This requires a collaborative effort among school, staff, students, parents and community.

1. Students will acquire the attitudes, knowledge, and skills that contribute to effective learning in school and across the life span.

- Provide a comprehensive, developmental counseling program to all students through classroom lessons and activities.
- Address the personal, social and academic needs of students with individual and small group counseling.
- Assist parents,teachers, and other adults in helping students solve problems and achieve goals.
- Provide program, staff, and school support services.
