Hi! My name is Julie Curry; I have a dual assignment that combines counseling duties at Grant and and the coordinating duties of the High Ability Learner (HAL) program. I serve at as counselor at Grant on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. I work with the HAL program on Tuesdays.
I began my education profession in Sioux City, Iowa and taught kindergarten, first and fifth grades. I moved to Norfolk after 10 years of teaching to become the principal at Jefferson and have had several different assignments with NPS. I have been with the Norfolk Public Schools for 25 years and have been at Jefferson, Northern Hills, Lincoln, and Grant in those 25 years! I have been at Grant for 5 years and really enjoy the students, families, and staff here.
My husband, Jim Curry, is the public relations director with Northeast Community College. We have one daughter, Gillian, and she is a student at Marymount Manhattan in New York City with a major in theatre design/management. Our dog, Stanley, is a West Highland White Terrier and he is all puppy!!!
My hobbies include reading, music, theatre, and travel.
